A third generation Coloradan, I began skating after Dorothy Hamill's gold medal performance in the 1976 Innsbruck Olympic games. As with so many skaters, I started in a learn to skate program, at a recreational rink, North Jeffco in Arvada, Colorado. I was fortunate to have Yvonne Dowlen as one of my first coaches, and fell in love with the sport. I always tell anyone who asks why I teach, "ice skating has been one of the constants in my life, no matter what - college, moving out of state, getting older - I come back to it over and over again. It is my happy place."
With experience in the disciplines of free skate, ice dance and synchronized skating, my goal is to make skating fun while focusing on the fundamentals of ice skating and building the progressive skills necessary to help any skater achieve their goals.
